Norman Music Festival.

Hello Bloggers! This weekend, April 26-28, is the Norman Music Festival...  This is the 5th year they have out this on.

It is free and open to the public but there are a few items you are not allowed to bring. There are 21 stages that you can check out, all ages are welcome to the festival.

Some music that I am excited to check out would be Hays Carll. He is from Texas and has a sweet voice. He is headlining on the Main Stage.

For more information about NMF... visit Norman Music Festival 5.

Hope to see you all there this Thursday!

Tornado Season.

Fellow Okies, as you all know the weather in this state is unpredictable. This past weekend many tornadoes touched down statewide. The worst of them all hit in Woodward, here is a diagram of what happened.

There is an interesting story featured in the NY TIMES about a woman who has survived two deadly tornadoes in her lifetime.

Here is a website all about how to prepare for wild weather: before, during and after.

Stay safe out there bloggers.

Wild One.

Hey bloggers! I don't know about you all , but this Oklahoma weather has been pretty wild this past few days and weeks. It goes from being gorgeous, sunny and 76 degrees to cold, raining and 52 degrees.

This is a great time of year to take some photographs outside, so if you have a chance to catch some wicked lightening, clouds or even sunshine!

Go out there and make today ridiculously amazing.

3 Tequilas

Many of you have heard the saying ..."One tequila, two tequila, three tequila... floor" Well in Edmond off of 2nd and Broadway there is a new Mexican restaurant called Three Tequilas. The owner, Salvador, is the former owner of Senor Tequilas that was located off of 2nd and Santa Fe...

Three Tequilas has great mexican food as well as Margaritas.
They have 3 sizes of Margaritas....
        1. Normal dinner size... $2.99 (on the rocks is stronger, if you're into that sort of thing)
        2. Medium size.... $5.99 (also available in sangria swirl)
        3. BIG MOMMA.... $17.99 (a giant fishbowl, for the party animal who's looking for a good time)

Their food is very delicious. Chips, white queso and salsa are complementary. Three Tequilas offers many varieties of food combinations but the al a carte menu is where I like to hit...

Three Tequilas offers indoor as well as patio seating (my favorite location.)

If you plan a visit for a sunny afternoon, you can probably catch May and myself there...

Until next time.

Many of you have heard about The Color Run... and I am pleased to announce that this colorful 5K is making its way to Tulsa, Oklahoma on JUNE 23RD! Never heard of this before? Don't fret I will give you all a little information on it.

It is a 5K (3.1 mi) Run mapped out by color, you are encouraged to wear all white because of these reasons:
1. 1K you get covered in Yellow
2. 2K you get covered in Green
3. 3K you get covered in Blue
4. 4K you get covered in Purple
5. and finally at 5K you get covered in Pink!

You can have up to 4 people on a team for this race. Also the colors that you get covered with 100% safe and natural powder that you could even eat, the website says it is not recommended because it is high in calories ;) Also there are 3 lanes you can run in, the two outer most are HIGH COLOR ZONES and the middle is LOW COLOR ZONE.

Here are a few photos from the website:

Spring Fever.

Hello little lovers! Today is such a beautiful sunshiny day in Oklahoma. It has definitely been shown that winter weather is out the door, which means HELLO SPRING!

Spring means quite a few things to Oklahomans, such as:
1.Fishing- going out to your local fishin' hole in nice weather is ideal
2.Being outside- who doesn't love some fresh air and the Oklahoma sky?
3.Allergies- with all the flowers and trees in bloom, allergies are sure to make a comeback

This is a wonderful picture I found of downtown Oklahoma City, such a great place!

Now go outside and and enjoy the weather :)

Casey Donahew Band.

This Saturday night at the Diamond Ballroom is the Casey Donahew Band. They are a red dirt country band, I have seen them at the Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa as well as the annual Calf Fry in Stillwater and they put on a great show! If you don't have plans for this weekend, check them out. Tickets are still on sale at the Diamond Ballroom.

Here is a video of one of my favorite songs 'Fallen'.

Okie Funnnkkkk.

Tuesday we had a speaker in my Blogging for Journalists class. He is the creator of Okie Funk, a liberal Oklahoma blog. He told us he first created the blog while driving home one day. He has been blogging since 2004 and is still blogging today. I enjoyed listening to him speak because he said that in blogging you have to like what you are blogging about or you will get disinterested. I found this to be true because if you are not passionate about something then your blog will fail.

Weekend at Edna's.

Hi loves! This Saturday, the 18th, is my best friend Whitney's 21st Birthday! This is a long awaited event, all of my other best friends and I have been 21 for some time now, so we are beyond excited for Whitney's 21st.

Friday at midnight, a large group of us will be headed to Edna's on Classen Curve in OKC. Edna's is famous for their Lunchboxes. And if you visit on your birthday the first Lunchbox is on the house! Also the bar is covered in dollar bills with things written all over them, if she's lucky maybe she will staple one to the wall or ceiling.

Here are a few tips on 21st birthday party etiquette:

1.  If you are Hosting the event, make sure to invite people the person would like there. (everyone loves to receive an invite, but not all will be invited)
2. Go wherever the Birthday Brat wants to go. (it is her day/night, not yours)
3. Pictures, pictures, pictures. (she will want to remember it) Mae is our party paparazzi.
4. Make sure she is comfortable, happy and doesn't get too sick. (after all it is a 21st)

I will update with some fabulous pictures on Saturday!

Dollhouse

This past weekend a few girlfriend and I had a girls night. We started at Alfredo's Mexican Restaurant in Edmond... had a margarita then headed to Bricktown to the Dollhouse.

The Dollhouse is a burlesque bar, with a very cool house band and burlesque shows through out the night. I felt like I was out of Oklahoma and in Hollywood. The bar has a great atmosphere. It was very classy. If you are looking for a place with a good atmosphere, drinks at a good price and a cool show then Dollhouse OKC is for you!

Randy Rogers Band

One of my all time favorite Red Dirt Country bands played at the historic Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa this past Friday! It is the second time I have seen the Randy Rogers Band play there and it was such an amazing show. I went with a few of my sorority sisters and had a blast. We ended up getting front and center!!

Here are a few pictures from the show! Enjoy!

Home Sweet 'Homa

Nothing says Oklahoma better than boots and spurs. That's why my favorite weekend adventure, is to go to CowboysOKC. They have bull riding every hour on Friday and Saturday, multiple bars with quarter beers on Friday until 10 o'clock and a huge dance floor where you can boot, scoot and boogie.

Don't know how to dance? There is a simple solution for that, Cowboys offers free dance lessons Friday at 8 o'clock. I think you would be crazy to pass that up! Twirling all over the dance floor is so much fun as well as a workout.

Experience a little bit of Home Sweet 'Homa at Cowboys OKC.

Lady Antebellum at BOKCenter

Hello Bloggers! So this Friday is my sister's 24th birthday and she absolutely  loves the very popular country band Lady Antebellum. They just so happen to be playing at Tulsa's BOKCenter. A local Tulsa radio station is giving away tickets today and I called them 81 times trying to win tickets. Maybe I will be caller #9 on the next chance to win...

I will keep you all updated if I win.... or just give in and buy her tickets!

that's all for now- xoxo Molly
